It all kicks off with the Vancouver Santa Claus Parade. There’ll be plenty of festive fun in the air as 300,000 people take to the street to see the floats, dance troupes, marching bands – and the great man himself – celebrate on the city’s streets.

2. The Festival of Lights at VanDusen Botanical Garden

From December 1 to January 7, 2018, VanDusen Botanical Garden is transformed into a glorious winter wonderland with more than one million twinkling lights. Watch the dancing lights show on Livingstone Lake, sing along to your favourite holiday classics at the festival stage, take a selfie with Santa, light a candle at the Make-A-Wish candle grotto or warm up with a boozy beverage at the fireside lounge. This is a hugely popular event, so to skip the line ups, book your tickets in advance online.

3. Hotel Magic

The sweetest lane in the city celebrates will be celebrating its 27th return to the lobby of Hyatt Regency Vancouver from December 1 to December 29. This year you can expect to see 30 gingerbread creations – but this is more than a holiday attraction – as Gingerbread Lane has raised more than $80,000 for charity over the years.

Alternatively, over at the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver and CF Pacific Centre Mall you can tour an enchanted forest of decorated trees and help to raise funds for the BC Children’s Hospital at the same time. Pay a visit to the Festival of Trees between November 30 and January 1, 2018, soak up the festive spirit and make a donation to a worthy cause.

4. Bright Nights in Stanley Park

This magical family-friendly tradition combines a walk-through winter wonderland of three million festive lights with a twinkling Christmas-themed miniature train ride – complete with live performers along the way. The event – which helps to raise funds for the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund – is a big hit each year, so be sure to book ahead.

The stylish Landis Hotel & Suites is perfectly located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, providing easy access to the city’s finest festive attractions.
