When it comes to ‘getting high’ in Vancouver, we suggest that you take the healthy route and make your way to two of the city’s most popular – and highest – attractions: Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and Grouse Mountain!
No trip to Vancouver is complete without a day spent marvelling at their dizzying heights.
Capilano Suspension Bridge Park
One of western Canada’s top visitor attractions, this 140-metre-long suspension bridge wobbles some 70-metres above the cascading Capilano River Canyon.
The bridge has been giving visitors thrills since Victorian times – and it’s still providing travellers with the same adrenaline buzz today.
You can also check out the park’s Treetops Adventure, which is made up of a series of suspended walkways running between the park’s tremendous, towering trees.
And if you still need an extra shot of adrenaline, take a stroll along the Cliffwalk, a steel and glass walkway through the rainforest that clings to the side of the park’s steep rock face.
Known as the ‘Peak of Vancouver’, the beautiful gondola trip up Grouse Mountain is a massive hit with visitors.
The mountain is a fabulous four-season activities-hub and when you get to the top you’ll find casual and high-end eateries – with views to absolutely die for – gift stores and a movie theatre.
In the summer you can go hiking and say hi to the mountain’s two orphaned grizzly bears, Grinder and Coola, in their expansive enclosure; while in the winter you can go skiing, snowboarding snowshoeing and ice-skating.
The Landis Hotel & Suites is perfectly located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, providing easy access to the city’s best attractions.
