Vancouver has tons going on this summer. Of everything, though, you definitely have to check out…

The Vancouver Folk Festival returns for its 41st year on July 13-15!

For those who don’t know, the Vancouver Folk Fest is one of Canada’s premier concert experiences! Picture three days on Vancouver’s gorgeous Jericho Beach surrounded by smiling faces and GREAT music. The pace is very relaxed – think “lawn chairs” more than most pits – but it’s an open-air musical experience that can’t be beat.

This year will be headlined by legends young and old. Ry Cooder will appear, playing his signature blend of blues and Latin music. Ry Cooder is one of the most profound musical talents in the business, and you should LEAP at this chance to see him in one of the most beautiful settings you’ll ever likely to experience music.

Also headlining is singer, songwriter, and all around badass Neko Case. Neko is famously a member of Vancouver’s own The New Pornographers and has a long list of absolutely stunning albums to her name at this point. Her latest, Hell-on, may just be one of her best. She’ll take to stage with her longtime songwriting partner, Vancouver resident Paul Rigby! We can’t wait.

However, even if you don’t recognize any of the artists from the DOZENS who will be appearing at the Folk Fest, take our advice – the best part of the Vancouver Folk Festival is discovering new music, especially during the daily “workshops” where bands from around the world jam together for the very first time!

And definitely, DEFINITELY get the full weekend pass! And when you do, book a stay at the Landis Hotel & Suites. Our extended stay suites will help you make the most of your stay, giving you somewhere comfortable to come back home to. Book your room today
